Lunar eclipse on June 15

A total lunar eclipse will take place late on the night of June 15th. It will be visible from India, astronomers (people who study space and stars) have said.

During a lunar eclipse, the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon. As a result the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, thereby covering it. On June 15th, we will see a total lunar eclipse—this means that the Earth’s shadow will completely cover the moon.

The eclipse will start at 11:50 PM June 15th and will last until 2:30 AM (early morning) on June 16th.
