The summer holidays are around the corner and no doubt you will be spending time on the Internet. Why not use some of that to learn programming?
We really like Tynker, an online portal where you can learn coding (that’s the creation of your own software that runs on a computer). Using some very cool code, you can learn to animate characters, fly drones, control robots, and publish apps.
There are courses for 7-9 year olds, 9-11 year olds and those older than 11 years. Using each module, which works through a story, you can learn to create your own characters and animate them. There are step-by-step instructions so that children can work at their own pace.
The main objective of a service like Tynker is that it exposes you to the way computer software is programmed and teaches you coding logic. (Parents: the good news is that you can sign up for a monthly subscription which costs around Rs.750 which gives complete access to all games, sorry programmes!
